1987年9月入党,l 961年7月参加工作,浙江美术学院书法专业毕业,研究生学历,一级美术师。
l961年7月在浙江省绍兴鲁迅图书馆工作,1962年9月在浙江省绍兴坡塘工家村小学工作,1964年8月就读于浙江美术学院巾国画系书法篆刻专业,1970年4月在空军第五军五·七干校劳动锻炼,1972年1月在浙江省杭卅书画社(两泠印社)工作,1979年8月就读于浙江省美术学院书法专业研究生,1981年12月任浙江省书协副秘书长,1988年9月任浙江省书协副主席兼秘书长,1994年6月任浙江省书协主席,2000年至今任浙江省书协主席、中国书协第四、五届副主席。
 

求学经历

朱关田自幼受乡风熏陶,每每挑灯夜读,不能自止。为学书法,以瓦钵当砚,清水为墨,方砖代纸,棕帚作笔,废寝忘食,三十余年如一日。
1960年,朱关田先生跨进了绍兴师范专科学校的大门。他把大量的精力投入到习字上。在班上,朱关田找到了不少志同道合的书法爱好者,和大家一起练字,令他深感愉悦。
因为种种原因,仅学习一年后,他就离开了学校,走上社会,在绍兴鲁迅图书馆当起了普通的工作人员,然后又担任郊区小学教师。但朱关田先生仍旧天天练字不缀。
1964年至1971年在学习。1964年,朱关田凭着深厚的功底,考入浙江美术学院(现为中国美术学院)中国画系书法篆刻专业(本科)。得著名书画篆刻大师潘天寿陆维钊沙孟海诸乐三、朱家济等亲授。又博涉唐楷,后改师北魏,而后又致力于章草。1971年朱关田被分配到了浙江省杭州书画社(即后来的西泠印社)工作。“文化大革命”并没有消磨朱关田的意志,他求知若渴,亟待奋发的他在恢复高考后的第一年,考上了浙江美术学院书法篆刻专业研究生,成为新中国第一届书法专业的研究生,这也为他今后的学习钻研奠定了更为厚实的基础。朱关田师从陆维钊沙孟海诸乐三等书法界泰斗。在学习阶段,朱关田时刻谨记着踏踏实实的作风。书法上,一丝不苟地练习;学术上,扎扎实实地钻研。

书法特点

朱关田学书从秦篆、汉隶入手,得中国书法的源头正脉。清代包慎伯以为:“夫作点势,在篆皆圆笔。”从朱氏的草书作品来看,其点势之优,应得益其初学书法之际从篆入手的良好基础。其后,朱关田主攻章草。章草点画线条粗细多样而和谐的情调,可以曲尽物象;章草运笔,不是平拖涂抹,依稀如先贤所言:“戈戟锐可畏,物象生动可奇。”笔意生动,笔道造型古拙,肌肤之丽,力在字中,可谓“势来不可止,势去不可遏”。
朱关田在写章草的同时,注意吸收大篆笔法及魏碑笔意,从而增加了朱氏书法的厚重感、稳重感。朱氏运笔不浮,点画饱满,章法似星斗落银河,天真可爱,落笔结字,上皆覆下,下以承上。考究其作品全局的气势,递相映带,转笔处亦藏头,令笔心常在点画中行。收笔处偶露飞白,坚正匀静,伸缩异度,变化多端,在清雄的外表之中,灵秀洒脱之态隐而又现,充分显示了这样改革开放后中国第一届书法研究生笃志砚田、寄情笔墨的个人风采。
